A Letter from the Founders of Flourishing Families

When we—Todd, Tim, and David—set out to begin Flourishing Families, we did so with a conviction that the family is one of God’s greatest gifts, and also one of its most vulnerable treasures.

Wealth, heritage, and purpose can either strengthen family bonds or quietly erode them. Too often, families assume that “it will all work out.” In reality, without intentionality, honesty, and wisdom, it rarely does.

Together, we have walked through our own challenges and triumphs: generational transition, decades of advising families in moments both inspiring and heartbreaking. These experiences, combined with Biblical wisdom and a calling to serve, have brought us to this work. Flourishing Families is not just a firm. It is our shared desire to help families experience greater joy, unity, and purpose that lasts for generations.

Our Vision for the Long Term

When we imagine the future—ten or twenty years from now—we see a corkboard filled with Polaroids of families whose lives are being transformed. Each photo represents a story: children and grandchildren better prepared, conversations once avoided now filled with love, and relationships once strained now marked by trust and joy.

Tim often describes this as helping families move “from good to great,” from passive leadership to active engagement, from disconnection to unity. David brings a long view: this is a generational calling that will endure until Christ returns, breaking unhealthy cycles and unleashing Godly ones. Todd envisions the fruit of the Spirit alive within family culture: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self-control shaping not only the use of wealth but the daily experience of family life.

Flourishing is found when families live fully alive—joyful, generous, and deeply connected across generations.

Our collective legacy will not be measured in assets preserved, but in families flourishing—fully alive in their stewardship, delighting in one another, and generously serving others in Jesus’ name.

Why This, Why Now

We have spent years in this space, watching families navigate both the opportunities and the pitfalls of wealth. What we’ve seen is clear: excellence without Biblical wisdom is not enough. The great wealth transfer is already underway, and families need a world-class approach to stewardship that is guided not just by best practice but by timeless truth.

For Tim, the journey of being a second-generation leader has revealed the unique tensions of inheritance and identity, as well as how personal pain can be transformed to serve others. For David, decades of legal and advisory work have revealed the necessity of clarity, strategy, and wisdom in helping families thrive. For Todd, the joy comes in creating spaces of trust and building tools that help families communicate, respect one another, and discover shared purpose.

We are better together than apart, and we love one another too much to attempt this work alone.

Stewardship as We See It

At the heart of our philosophy is stewardship: the recognition that God owns everything, and we are managers entrusted with what is His. Stewardship is not about security or accumulation; it is about discipleship, joy, and impact. It is a call to generosity, to live for the Kingdom rather than for ourselves.

When families embrace stewardship, wealth becomes more than liquid power. It becomes a tool to deepen relationships, to practice virtue, and to bless others. True flourishing comes when families see their wealth not as an end, but as a means to love God and neighbor more fully.

The Role of Values and Culture

Every family has a culture, whether spoken or unspoken, healthy or unhealthy. Our role is to help families name their values, live their virtues, and align their culture with what matters most. Tim emphasizes trust as the foundation; “the speed of trust” in families is real. David presses families to bridge the gap between who they are today and who they long to be. Todd brings a relational lens, helping families communicate in ways that foster joy and unity.

Together, we guide families toward clarity, consistency, and courage in how they live out their values across generations.

What Families Can Expect

Our prayer is that every family who works with us feels meaningfully connected, encouraged, and equipped. We want them to leave with less worry and more joy. We want them to feel liberated, grateful, and confident in their ability to engage in deeper ways with one another. And most of all, we want them to see that it is never too late to begin this journey.

True legacy is not measured in assets preserved, but in families strengthened by love, clarity, and purpose

If even one family says, “Our relationships are stronger, our purpose is clearer, and our joy is greater because of this work,” then we have fulfilled our calling.

Our Own Families

We would be hypocrites if we sought flourishing for others while ignoring it at home. Each of us sees this work as a call to be more intentional with our own families—to lead our children with discernment, to live with integrity, and to celebrate both victories and failures together. Our wives, and children and grandchildren are not bystanders but active shapers of this journey, holding us accountable to the very principles we bring to others.

In the end, Flourishing Families is about more than financial clarity. It is about families fully alive in Christ, joyful, generous, and deeply connected across generations. That is our calling. That is our hope. And that is why we do this work together.

With gratitude,
